CDL Class A

This course is designed to prepare students for a Class A commercial driver’s license.  It consists of two weeks of in-class training to obtain a valid CDL-learner permit.  General Knowledge, airbrakes, combination sections, tanker endorsement, and doubles and triples will be covered to obtain the permit.  Hours of service, FMCSA's compliance, safety, accountability, and defensive driving will also be covered. Once a permit is obtained, students will continue with three weeks of road and range training. Training will consist of proper pre-trip inspection of a commercial motor vehicle and how to safely perform reverse maneuvers and operate on city streets and highways. 

Classes will be held in Weirton and Wheeling initially, with plans to offer classes on the New Martinsville campus soon.

Applicants must pass a D.O.T. physical exam and drug screening before the first day of class.

ServSafe Food Protection Manager Course - Wheeling Campus

EKG Technician - Monday & Wednesday Class

Wheeling Campus

This course prepares students for the EKG Technician role in a healthcare setting.  Students will be taught the principles of quality control, infection control, safety procedures, pathology, medical terminology, and patient care's legal and ethical aspects.  This course includes classroom instruction and campus laboratory skills practice.   Students are required to complete 45 hours of preceptorship training and successfully obtain 10 EKGs on live individuals.  Students who complete all aspects of the course are eligible to sit for the EKG Technician Certification Exam, provided by the National Health Career Association.

(Mise en place (MEEZ ahn plahs) is a French term for having all your ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, grated, etc. before you start cooking. Pans are prepared. Mixing bowls, tools and equipment set out.

Program length: 6 hours

In this class, students learn how to read, use, and write a recipe.   They’ll understand basic conversions, mise en place, and knife cuts.   Students will understand the concept of prepping salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and dressings.
