AHA BLS CPR - New Martinsville

This course reflects the updated 2020 American Heart Association guidelines. It teachers both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. EKG Technician - New Martinsville Campus

New Martinsville Campus
This course prepares students for the EKG Technician role in a healthcare setting. Students will be taught the principles of quality control, infection control, safety procedures, pathology, medical terminology, and patient care's legal and ethical aspects. This course includes classroom instruction and campus laboratory skills practice. Students are required to obtain 10 EKGs on live individuals. Students who complete all aspects of the course are eligible to sit for the EKG Technician Certification Exam, provided by the National Health Career Association.
Additionally, program completers of EKG and Phlebotomy can receive college credit towards WVNCC’s Patient Care Technician Certificate – a one-year program.

NAEMT Mental Health Resilience Officer

The Mental Health Resilience Officer (MHRO) course prepares EMS personnel to serve as their agency’s Mental Health Resilience Officer. In this role, the MHRO will engage with peers to develop an understanding of mental health issues and resilience; identify peers who are experiencing mental health stressors and crises; navigate peers in need to the right services for help; and support the development of a culture of mental health resilience and emotional wellness within the agency.
This course is designed for EMS practitioners who meet the following qualifications:
- at a minimum, current state certification or license as an EMT;
- at least three years of full-time practice (or equivalent) at the EMT level or above;
- strong interpersonal communication skills with an interest in serving in this position;
- and prior experience with critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) and/or motivational interviewing preferred

VENT-ENTER- SEARCH TRAINING

The original tactic of vent-enter-search (VES) was developed and perfected to allow firefighters alternative means to access and remove victims trapped in burning buildings. Many of the concepts associated with VEI(isolate)S draw on the original skills and abilities that were developed with VES. There are four basic factors that have contributed to the development of VEI and will be covered: modern building construction, occupancy layouts, fire loads, and scientific research. Each will be covered in this presentation.

This course is for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the managemnet of cardiopulmonary arerst or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response. This course is a renewal/update. Must provide a copy of current AHA ACLS Card.
NAEMT Geriatric EMS - Wheeling Campus

This course is diesgned for EMTs, paramedics, emergency responders, nurses, physician assistants and physicians. This course can be taken in conjunction with the NAEMT GEMS course or as a stand alone course.
