Electrical and Electronic Fundamentals-Wheeling Campus
Students will learn electrical laws and principles pertaining to DC and AC circuits. Topics covered include current, voltage, resistance, power, inductance, capacitance, and transformers. Proper use of standard electrical tests, electrical equipment and troubleshooting principles are stressed. Safety procedures are emphasized throughout the course. This course also introduces the principles which describe the operation of DC and AC circuits, covering both steady and transient states, and applies these principles to three-phase supplies, transformers, DC machines and three-phase induction motors. New topics included in this edition are a complete update on semiconductor diodes and transistors, and additional material on batteries, fuel cells and alternative and renewable energies, test and measuring instruments.

Machine Maintenance/Installation I - Weirton Campus
The course covers basic principles associated with mechanical power transmission systems and examines the precedures for removal, repair, and installation of machine components. Installation techniques, alignment, lubrication practices, and maintenance procedures for industrial machinery are emphasized. Students also learn the techniques involved in the calibrations and repair of mechnical devices and procedures to perform calculations related to industry machinery. This class is at the Weirton Campus from August 25 - December 10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 10:40 am. Cost $875.00.
Hydraulics Pneumatics - Wheeling Campus
The course provides the basic theory of fluid power systems including Pascal's Law. Students will study the various components of fluid power systems including pumps, values, cylinders, filters, heat exchangers, pressure regulators and accumulators. Hydraulic terminology and the use of hydraulic symbols on schematics are an area of focus. Students will design and troubleshoot elementary fluid power circuits. Students will also study pneumatic systems and system components. Both hydraulic and pneumatic system are covered in the maintenance sections. The class is from August 25 - December 10, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:40 p.m. Cost $875.00
Modern MFG Processes/Robotics - Weirton Campus
We will introduce the fundamentals of modern manufacturing with a focus on automation and robotics to students while they explore basic manufacturing concepts, system components, and the role of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic technologies in automated systems. The course emphasizes introductory control logic, system operation, and basic troubleshooting. Students also develop an understanding of programable logic controllers (PLCs), safe work practices, and teamwork in manufacturing environments. This class is on the Weirton Campus, August 25 - December 10, 2026, Tuesday and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:40 p.m. Cost $875.00.
