This is part of the Summer Welding Institute, but can be taken as a stand alone class as well.  Register here for just this class.

There is a $25 seat reservation that is refundable if you are qualified for Full financial aid. Total cost of the class is $1,049.

Full payment, financial assistance or a payment plan MUST BE completed and approved by WVNCC three (3) business days prior to the first day of class.    You will be dropped from the class after that date.

Shielded Metal Arc Welding I (SMAW I)

Learn the process of SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) Stick Welding. This program is an intense, hands-on training to prepare for the initial Certification test after this course. Course fees will include the cost of the certification exam.

This course is a continuation of Shielded Metal Arc Welding I and provides instruction towards certification testing requirements for vertical and 3-position weld tests (horizontal, vertical, and overhead).   Additionally, the instruction includes 6G pipe with an uphill weld dependent on the participant's progression in the course, and skill level certification exams will be given dependent on an individual's knowledge and skill. Course fees will include the cost of the certification exam.
