This course prepares students for career opportunities in Mobile Integrated Healthcare/Community Paramedic, health prevention, health behavior, and disease prevention. Students learn a variety ofskills and strategies that will provide them with the necessary proficiences to improve population health in diverse settings. The program focuses on the social and behavioral determinants of health and disease across the lifespan, with a particular emphasis on health disparities. Course includes 40 clinical hours that must be completed by September 30, 2024
To be eligible for enrollment, students must be a current Paramedic in good standing, either National Registry or State Registered. Students must complete the IBSC (International Board of Speciality Certification) i Community Paramedic Exam.
Course is held every other Friday for four weeks.
