Energy Technician Career Starter
with Curt Hippensteel

This course is designed to prepare students with basic skills for starting a career in the energy technology field. This Energy Technician "Career Starter" program is comprised of two (2) existing first-year courses from Northern’s Energy Technology AAS Degree program: 1) Safety Applications and 2) Production Technology.
Students (credit and non-credit) will earn an “Energy Technician Career Starter Certificate” from Northern to launch their career in the energy industry.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to earn an industry-recognized credential: the PEC Safeland USA card. The PEC Basic Orientation / SafeLand USA safety awareness course replaces multiple Operator orientations and provides students a general overview of life and safety issues in the oil and gas industry. Students will also receive an overview of basic tools, equipment, production vessels, valves, fittings and pipefitting skills in respect to the energy industry.
PLEASE NOTE: Steel toe boots are REQUIRED for this course and are the responsibility of the student to have on the first day of class.
Add an additional credential to your resume. Check out the OSHA 10 class on June 1-2, 2023
