CDL Class A

Calendar Jan 9, 2023 at 8 am, runs for 5 weeks

This course is designed to prepare students for a Class A commercial driver’s license.  It consists of two weeks of in-class training to obtain a valid CDL-learner permit.  General Knowledge, airbrakes, combination sections, tanker endorsement, and doubles and triples will be covered to obtain the permit.  Hours of service, FMCSA's compliance, safety, accountability, and defensive driving will also be covered. Once a permit is obtained, students will continue with three weeks of road and range training. Training will consist of proper pre-trip inspection of a commercial motor vehicle and how to safely perform reverse maneuvers and operate on city streets and highways. 

Classes will be held in Weirton and Wheeling initially, with plans to offer classes on the New Martinsville campus soon.

Applicants must pass a D.O.T. physical exam and drug screening before the first day of class.

CDL refresher I

This class is designed to refresh a past drivers experience level back to the competent level. It is designed for drivers who have a CDL already but have been out of the driver's seat for a while.

During the 1-week program, students will be reminded how to safely operate a Class A vehicle. Students will be reminded how to properly pre-trip a commercial motor vehicle. This class will also teach how to safely back a truck with reverse maneuvers and operate safely on city streets and highways. CDL refresher will also provide confidence and the competency to pass a road test given to them by prospective employers. 

Applicants must pass a D.O.T. physical exam and drug screening before the first day of class.

This class is 9 weekends only, Saturday and Sunday 10-hour days 7am-5pm. This course is designed to prepare students for a Class A commercial driver's license. It consists of 3 weekends in-class training to obtain a valid CDL-learner permit. The following subjects will be covered; general knowledge, airbrakes, combination sections, tanker endorsement, doubles, and triples. The other areas that will be covered include; hours of service, FMCSA's compliance, safety, accountability, and defensive driving. Once a permit is obtained, students will continue with 6 weekends of road and range training. Training will consist of proper pre-trip inspection of a commercial motor vehicle.This training also includes how to safely perform reverse maneuvers and operate on city streets and highways.

Classes will be held in Weirton, Wheeling and New Martinsville campus. Applicants must pass a D.O.T. physical exam and drug screening before the first day of class.
