Summer Welding Institute - 2026

There is a $25 seat reservation that is refundable if you are qualified for Full financial aid. Total cost of the program is $5,399.

NOTE:   Financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.  This falls into 2 different funding years so please contact Financial Aid as soon as possible to get the process started.  Please click this link to read about funding options.   Additionally, you may contact the WVNCC Financial Aid office at: 304-214-8844. 

Our Welding Institute is designed to provide the skills necessary to enter the workforce immediately upon completion. Participants in this short-term intensive welding program will complete courses that include OSHA 10, SMAW I & II, blueprint reading, MIG I, TIG I, and Forklift Safety.   Students will have the opportunity to test for welding certifications in SMAW vertical and 3 position plate welds, MIG plate welds, and pipe welds dependent on each individual’s ability and progression in the courses.

The Welding Institute is held for 10 weeks during the summer (7:30am – 4:00pm; M-F)

Schedule:

SMAW I:       June 1 - 12, 2026

MIG I:          June 15 - 26, 2026

OSHA 10:     June 29 - 30, 2026

SMAW II:      July 1 - 17, 2026

TIG I:           July 20 - 31, 2026

Blueprint/P&ID Reading:                     August 3 - 7, 2026

Forklift Safety and Operator Training:  August 10, 2026
