Certified Nurse Assistant - Weirton Campus (seat reservation)

There is a $25 seat reservation that is refundable if you are qualified for financial aid. Total cost of the program is $1,999. Once the class is full - we will keep a waiting list in case a spot opens up and for the next class that will be offered.

We will have 10 spots available for this class.  Classroom and lab time will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 8:00am - 4:30pm. 

Program length: (65 contact hours of classroom instruction, 55 contact hours of clinical instruction are required by the State of WV)

Clinicals will be held at Weirton Geriatric.   Any vaccinations, or physicals required will be the responsibility of the student.  

The Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares individuals for an entry-level position in the health care field. Graduates work closely with patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The nursing assistant provides important information on patient conditions to nurses and is vital to the daily operations of a skilled nursing facility, home health organization, or hospital. After program completion, prospective Nursing Assistants take a competency examination to become certified. 

Additionally, program completers can receive college credit towards WVNCC’s Patient Care Technician Certificate – a one-year program.

Manufacturing Essentials - Weirton Campus

This course is designed to prepare students with basic skills for starting a career in the manufacturing field.  The topics being presented are short overviews of each subject in order to provide those new to manufacturing with a basic knowledge to prepare them for an entry-level position in manufacturing.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a continuing education certificate of completion.

Certified Bookkeeper

Calendar Sep 3, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 9 weeks

Program length:  75 hours

September 3 - November 5, 2024

(instructor will teach via intercampus video or Zoom)

This course includes 75 hours of instruction, 6 textbooks, Certification exam fees, and registration fees for The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) Exam.   

Participants will learn the level of knowledge and skill needed to carry out all key functions through the adjusted trial balance, including basic payroll, depreciation, inventory, internal controls, and fraud prevention.

Certified Manufacturing Associate - New Martinsville Campus

This course utilizes curriculum based on SME’s Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) certification.  This training is focused on basic manufacturing concepts, demonstrating an individual’s potential for high-demand, entry-level manufacturing roles.

It was designed for individuals new to manufacturing who may not currently possess enough knowledge or experience for more advanced technical certifications. Covering fundamental topics such as shop math, assembly, maintenance, machining, inspection, and more, this industry-driven certification demonstrates that the individual has basic knowledge of manufacturing.  

Classes will meet on the New Martinsville campus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm - 8:30pm beginning September 3, 2024 and ending on November 7, 2024.  

NAEMT- EMS Safety

This course is designed to instruct students on how to protect themselves and their patients while on the job.  It promotes a culture of safety and helps reduce the number of on-the-job fatalities and injuries.  EMS Safety is the only national, comprehensive safety course for EMS practitioners.

This class will meet on 9/4/2024 and 9/18/2024 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

Administrative Professional

This course is designed to prepare students for a career as an administrative professional with computer skills and a professional and polished appearance.  This course includes basics in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outook and Powerpoint.   It also entails proper business communication, meeting and travel scheduling, records management and customer service.   

Upon successful completion of the course, attendees receive a continuing education certificate of completion.

This course may be held via Zoom and/or intercampus video.  There may also be online instruction and out of class work required.

Pharmacy Technician - Weirton Campus

This course is designed to prepare students for a Pharmacy Technician certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Subjects will include patient and medication safety procedure, filling orders, procurement, billing, reimbursement, and inventory management, pharmacy technology and informatics database software, and the roles and responsibilities of working in retail, call centers, hospitals and pharmacies.
